کتاب minimal Film کتابی است که هر فیلم آن توسط جادوی تصویری و طراحی گرافیکی روایت شده؛ می‌توان گفت کتابی است برپایه graphic design که از طریق جادوی مسحورکننده سینما تعریف میشود.
هدف اصلی این کتاب انتقال و ارائه حس اصلی سینما از طریق extreme synthesis و ساده سازی فرم هاست.
این شکل ها رنگی هستند و همین باعث میشود طراحی هایی ها از نظر بصری بسیار خیره کننده و تأثیرگذار باشند.برای مثال : دایره ای سفید که روی ناحیه آبی رنگ قرار دارد به عنوان پرتره ای از ball Wilson از فیلم Cast Away کفایت میکند یا دو مثلث سفید عمودی روی یک ناحیه قرمز برای فراخواندن Dracula کافی هستند.از Game of Thrones تا Breaking Badحتی سریال های تلویزیونی هم به شکل تصویری در این کتاب ارائه شده اند.
Minimal Film tells the stories of the movies we all know and love―from Alien to Rain Man, Star Wars to Psycho, E.T. to Ghost―through the often comically concise pictographic language of Shortology.
Something of an internet craze, Shortology can narrate anything through pictograms. This has allowed Milan-based graphic designer Matteo Civaschi to isolate the very essence of movie plots, eliminating the superfluous and focusing on the essential.
For example, two white triangles perpendicular to a red field suffice to evoke Dracula. But even complex or lengthy plots can be reduced to this language, as the inclusion of TV series from Game of Thrones to Breaking Bad attests.
